Located in historic Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Bucknell University is one of the oldest private universities in the United States, having been established 176 years ago. Among the many facilities the university has to offer is the Bucknell University Golf Club, which was established in 1930. Bucknell Golf Club has the distinct honor of being ranked as one of the top 7 college golf courses on the east coast while also having the privilege of being selected to host multiple US Open Qualifiers over the past 15 years. Lewisburg is a small college town with many quaint local shops in the downtown area on Market Street.
The Bucknell Golf Club has a restaurant, the 1846 Grill, for the enjoyment of members and guests. The grill is a great place for golfers to fuel up with a hearty breakfast or enjoy lunch after a day on the links. They are known for their great burgers and sandwiches. The Grill has a spacious dining room with a bar and a patio area which is used when in season. The dining room has light beige-colored walls and sand colored indoor/outdoor carpeting. The colors were chosen to match the university colors. The interior has high ceilings with wood beams in mahogany finish and large windows allow in plenty of natural light giving the venue an open, spacious ambiance. The bar is very classy with a solid wood counter in mahogany finish.
Dominic, the manager of the 1846 Grill contacted us to procure quality seating. To provide guests with comfortable seating, he chose our Premium US made duna wood chair with arms. He chose mahogany finish and padded seats upholstered in black vinyl. The mahogany finish matches the wood beams and the finish of the tables. The arm chairs provide additional comfort and also add the golf club’s prestigious look. The Duna wood chair is handmade by American craftsmen using superior, old-world techniques. The solid wood chairs have a modern, upscale look that is at home in the university’s golf club.
For the bar, Dominic chose Premium US made Duna wood bar stools in mahogany finish and seats upholstered with blue vinyl. The matching Duna bar stools help give the grill a complete look and fit in with the university's prestigious image. The Duna style added a bit of European flair with its stylish look, while fitting in with the University’s traditional American image. The mahogany finish also matches the solid wood bar counter and the wood paneling behind the bar. Since this seating was for a respectable college golf club grill and not a sports bar, it was important to have premium seating that blended in with the collegial motif. The Duna bar stools and matching arm chairs add the sophisticated look to enhance the image of the 1846 Grill.
