If you are in the mood for Portuguese cuisine, become acquainted with this recent opening Chicago-based chain. The fresh addition has expanded its portfolio, marking its location at 1419 W Taylor street in Chicago. Focusing on Portuguese style chicken, Port of Peri Peri serves fresh antibiotic free chicken served in wraps, sandwiches, platters, etc. This spot’s signature grilled chicken is not something you want to miss. Port of Peri Peri is a locally based restaurant owed by Syed Pasha, with 18 locations nationwide. Also known as the African Bird’s Eye Chili to many, Peri Peri is a chili based seasoning traditionally used in African chicken dishes. However, Port uses recipes that are native and traditional to the Portugese city of Port where sailors have introduced African chili to the city. Built around this inspiring historical event, Port aims to offer everyone to enjoy great chicken cooked to succulent perfection on a flame grill.

Word got out very quickly and a multicultural crowd has packed the casual eatery in Chicago in no time. But this is only the first western U.S. restaurant for the Port of Peri Peri, a company founded two years ago in Illinois — so how do all these customers already know about the spicy African-Portuguese specialty called peri peri chicken? Credit is owed to the restaurant chain Nando’s, with its 1,000 locations worldwide. Every teen fan of the One Direction group knows those guys are peri peri fiends; you can even find receipts from the band’s food orders on the internet. Not familiar with peri peri chicken (often spelled piri piri)? Pasha says the Port of Peri Peri restaurants use fresh, all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken that is marinated for 24 hours, then grilled. The chile-spiked herb sauces are free of gluten, MSG and nuts. Customers can have their peri chicken many ways: the whole bird, pieces, tenders, or in wraps, sandwiches, pitas and salads. And you can control the level of heat, from “mild and mellow” to “extra hot and spicy.” Peri accommodates vegetarians with a falafel pita and paneer along with veggie patty wraps. Sides feature red-skinned potato salad, regular and cassava fries and grilled corn.

Industrial restaurant bar stools and tables

As a venue that continues to draw heavy traffic and experiences every day, Port of Peri Peri decided it needed new seating that would highlight its rustic décor. Reputable for its excellent quality restaurant furniture and outstanding customer service, the owner contact Affordable Seating. He ordered several sets of dark grey metal bistro chairs along with matching commercial bar stools. Lightweight and stackable, these metal restaurant chairs and bar stools are made of fully welded metal which is powder coated in dark grey. A solid wood seat in a walnut stain finish is included. Perfect combination of classic and contemporary, like Port’s rustic décor, these metal restaurant chairs and bar stools mimic old world charm with a modern take on a vintage favorite.

For restaurant tables, they decided on the resin table top paired with an X prong cast iron base. Built for both indoor and outdoor use, this resin table top is featured in a walnut finish that adds warm touch to any décor theme. Made from high compact wood and resin materials, premium construction guarantees long lasting durability for this patio table top. This table top is available in numerous sizes and shapes and therefore can be customized to your preference. As is the base that was used to support the table top.
