Pilos Tacos is located in the famous Miami Beach neighborhood which is popular with tourists and socialites. It is here you can feel the vibrant pulse of this diverse city. Miami Beach is also known for its historic art deco architecture and has been one of America's pre-eminent beach resorts for almost a century. The city has a rich history as a trend-setting center of arts, culture and nightlife, from the world famous nightclubs of the 1950s to the rich cultural life of today's South Beach.
At Pilo's Street Tacos it's not just about the food, it is also about people. It all stems back to the owner’s Aunt Pilo, who has a special way about her that makes everyone feel welcomed. Her gracious hospitality is real and from the heart, just like their tacos. Visitors to Pilos Street Tacos experience real Mexican street tacos without the plane ride. Their Mexican chefs put their heads together creating their own signature homemade salsas and healthy veggie taco options that have won praise from food critics.
In addition to tacos and burritos, Pilos also serves other classical Mexican entrees such as El Sabroso, which comes with a choice of chicken, skirt steak, grilled shrimp, grilled fish, pork carnitas, pork al pastor, cheese or mushrooms al pastor. They also serve traditional Mexican drinks such as horchatas, Jarritos in assorted flavors and sidral mundet.
Founded by Derek Gonzalez, the restaurant is proudly involved in community outreach programs that include charities such as Easter Seals, Pride Academy, Gigi’s Play House and Best Buddies. Derek makes a concerted effort to hire people with disabilities and special needs. He hopes to become the largest employer of people with special needs, eventually employing 5000 people with disabilities.
The interior of Pilos Tacos has the look and feel of an authentic Mexican cantina which features natural wood paneling and hardwood floors. It is also bright and colorful including Mexican artwork on the walls and multi colored
Tolix style bar stools and chairs with a distressed look.
The metal bistro style chairs and stools add to the authentic Mexican cantina feel. The colors combined with the (intentional) distressed look and the art let the diners know exactly what they are in for: An authentic Mexican dining experience.
The outdoor resin table tops in natural finish are a great choice for outdoor dining because they are waterproof and UV resistant. Another advantage to the resin tops is they are extremely durable and scratch resistant, making them ideal for fast service restaurants which have a lot of turnover, and the finish looks like natural wood. Cast iron table bases were chosen to go with the tables, which complement the natural wood look.
